Panchgani Sightseen

Panchgani is located 20 km away from Mahabaleshwar. Like Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani is situated on a flat plain at the top of the Sahyadri mountain range. The green forests contribute significantly to Panchgani sightseen. Exotic fruits, including raspberries, are widely produced here. The wild rose flowers swaying in the forest catch your attention. On the north side of Panchgani Hill, you’ll find an attractive view of the Krishna River valley, Balkavadi, and Dhom dams, as well as the Krishnasagar reservoir. The village of Kaularu houses, green fields, surrounding hills, and forts complete the picturesque landscape.

The primary industries in Panchgani focus on catering to tourists. There are 45 hotels and lodges, both large and small. Additionally, the leather industry, fruit processing, honey collection, dairy production, and milk-based dishes contribute to the local economy. Clubs, libraries, banks, and credit unions are also present. Notably, this beautiful area often serves as a backdrop for film shoots.

Around Panchgani, you’ll discover villages such as Dandeghar, Godwali, Khingar, Amral, Rajpuri, and Bhilar, which predate Panchgani itself. The lush forests and pleasant atmosphere, combined with the flat table land, have likely attracted settlers and increased the population at the base of the plateau.

Due to its lower rainfall compared to Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani can be visited year-round. It’s cold, dry weather is believed to have health benefits, earning it the nickname ‘Aarogyadham’ meaning ‘place of health.

1) Table Land:-

The hill in which Panchgani village is hidden is the hill of Table Land. Its specialty is the flat plain of about 4 square kilometers on the top of this hill. It is the 2nd largest mountain plateau in Asia. This plain is called Table Land. This ground is about 200 feet above Panchgani village.

There is a asphalt road for tourists visiting Panchgani.  That’s the main attraction. Because from this ground, you can see the sky in all four directions. The villages of Panchgani, Dandeghar and Godwali can be seen from the Krishna valley, the tree-lined mountain valleys. There is a natural cave on the lower side of the plain. There is a gift house. The cave is very cold. The south-east of the field is a large rock stove-like structure. Devil’s Kitchen is called Devil’s Kitchen.There are stalls of artifacts and food items. Tourists can ride on a tonga or horse.

2) Sydney Point:

A hill is seen at a short distance on the north side from the zakatnaka naka on the east side of Panchgani, and after climbing the round road of this hill, there is a pillar at the top. Standing near this pillar, you can see the city of Wai to the east, the mountain range to the north and the Dhom dam below. The reservoir attracts our attention. It’s a different experience to see the settlements of the Koularu houses in the middle of the green farmland.

3) Centre for Moral Revival (MRA):

One of the factors that contributed to Panchgani’s recognition as an international tourist destination is the Moral Re-Armament (MRA) Centre. It has a courtyard and grand structure adjacent to the Pune Road, 1 km east of Panchgani. It organizes and efforts for the moral advancement of human beings. Foreign tourists answer here because of the latest facilities of food and accommodation available here. Gandhi has set up the centre. International conferences are held here. The center is open from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for visitors to visit.

4) Dosi Point: –

Panchgani has a significant number of Parsis. They have a fire temple on Chesson Road here. There is a dossy point on the front of it. You can sit on the benches placed at this point and see the natural beauty around you.

5) Baby Point:

Baby Point is just 150 metres from the village on the way from Panchgani to Mahabaleshwar. So it may have been called Baby Point.

6) Kachbawadi:-

1 from Panchgani on Mahabaleshwar road. that. I. At a distance is Kachbawadi (Kachchbawadi). It has become a sightseeing place due to the natural beauty seen from here.

7) Meher Baba’s Cave: –

On the west side of Kachbawadi, you can find Meher Baba’s cave. Saint Meher baba lived here; It is therefore a favorite place of his disciples, and visitors experience an extraordinary experience when they come to this very secluded place.

8) Parsi Point: –

Parsi Point is located 400 metres to the west of Kachbawadi. Located along the Mahabaleshwar road, it is located 2 km from Panchgani. It is located to the north of the main road. It can enjoy the constant wind. There are three pagoda-like towers in the park along the hill side. The middle tower is three storeys. Standing on these towers, the krishna river valley below and the lotus fort in front of it.

9) Orchards of Bhilar:-

Bhillar village is 6 km from Panchgani and has rose gardens and strawberry and rasberry fields to see.

10) Mulaj Foot Products, Bhose:-

Malaj Foot Products seems to have a rich history and a diverse range of products. It’s impressive that they’ve been around since 1958 and have managed to cater to both local and international markets.

11) MaPro Foods Products, Gureghar:-

There is also a jam factory at Gureghar. A factory and park have been set up on an 8-acre area along the road. Hundreds of types of cacts (picking) can be seen in the greenhouse there. Roses and other exhibitable attractive plants of various colors and shapes can be seen. Flowering plants are sold in the nursery here, while factory produce is sold at the counter.

12) Kedareshwar Temple, Dandeghar:-

3 km from Panchgani on Panchgani-Wai road. I. At a distance there is a village called Dandeghar. Kedareshwar is an ancient Shiva temple of Shiva in this village. In this temple, water flows continuously from the mouth of Nandi and it accumulates in that lower pool. The water from this pond is used for drinking all the villages.

There is also a Temple of Shiva in a village called Godwali at the back of the tableland. There is constant water flowing through the body. From Dandeghar, one can descend the valley by the nearest footpath and go to Godwali or take the asphalt road by turning the table land.

To the south of Godwali is a village called Amral, where there is also a Peshwa-era Shiva temple. It is mentioned in history that it was built by a moneylender of the surname Angal.
